Tournament Saturday March 9

WHEN: Sat March 9 9:00-2:00.
WHAT: There is a section for primary K-3 and one for elementary (4-6) at this tournament.
After Travis's success,lots of the kids are interested. You'll play 5 games. Each game you'll be matched with a player with a similar record.
WHO: Anyone who wants to have fun playing chess. If your rating is 300, you'll win a game or two. If you're under 300, you'll have trouble winning even 1 game. Be prepared for some serious thinking!
WHERE: Metcalf Middle School in Burnsville. 35E S to Diffley, then West just past Cedar.
HOW: Register at the site before 8:30 or online and show up around 9:00
HOW MUCH: $22 for first timers, $20 if you're already a member of SCA, but the Moreland Chess club will pay half your fee.

We went over worksheets on undermining in detail finishing the problems to the conclusion of the game. We even learned a little about a move called "zwischenzug".
