Chess Sets for Christmas

If you'd like a chess set as a gift. I have two left - Board and Pieces (like the ones at school) with extra queens, Black zippered case with handles and a sleeve for the board - $12.

Tournament this Sat at Metcalf M.S. in Burnsville Cost $22. Play only children in your own grade.
Be there at 8:30 to register. Should be done around 3:00. No elimination - you'll play 5 games.

Today we learned all the ways to get out of check and had a worksheet.

All chess sets include pieces (extra Q's), vinyl board, and a case with handles and a place for a board, comes in black, blue, green, or red.

Today we were introduced to the 3 things you should try to do at the beginning of a game.
1) Attack the center of the board
2) Get your knights and bishops out of the back row
3) Get castled

First Week of Chess Club

Chess club went well this - we had 8 students on both Tues and Thurs.
We learned how all the pieces move and capture and learned about check,  checkmate and stalemate.
