Today we were introduced to the 3 things you should try to do at the beginning of a game.
1) Attack the center of the board
2) Get your knights and bishops out of the back row
3) Get castled
We'll review these all next week as well as work on finishing up the 2-rook checkmate.

Four student passed the test and gained 10 point.

First Week of Chess Club

Chess club went well this - we had 8 students on both Tues and Thurs.
We learned how all the pieces move and capture and learned about check,  checkmate and stalemate.
We revisited these topics and added castling on Thursday.
